My name is Tara Garmon, and I’m the Editor-in-Chief of I Really Like Food.
I live in Georgia with my husband and seven (yes, 7!) children, plus a cat and a dog.
I’ve been passionate about cooking for as long as I can remember. I always helped my parents and grandparents cook, and I bought my first cookbook (I believe it was the first book from the Better Homes & Gardens Encyclopedia of Cooking, or it might have been their Meals in Minutes) for 25 cents at a flea market when I was about 5 or 6. Since then, I’ve bought hundreds of cookbooks. I lost quite a few of them due to theft, but I’m slowly building my collection back.
I used to love watching Nathalie Dupree’s New Southen Cooking on PBS, as well as Justin Wilson, Yan Can Cook, and several other great shows. These days I like Top Chef, Hell’s Kitchen, Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, Restaurant Impossible and Dinner Impossible.
I’m an avid Pinterest pinner, watcher of food TV shows, and culinary explorer.
I like cooking, gardening, art, fashion, beauty, preparedness, movies, and spending time outdoors with my husband and kids.
I’m also a romance writer. I write under the pen name Alanis Knight. You can find my books on Amazon.com.
